Download the SatLoader application

The SatLoader program is used from the installer's PC to transfer the data into the meter through the USB port quickly and simply.

The data transferred will overwrite the data that was in the meter before the transfer, and the end user cannot use it to edit the content of the data in the dataset file.

The download is in Zip format and the SatLoader program must be installed by the install.exe program. Extracted and installed onto the hard drive before use.

Satloader Guidelines

DO NOT CONNECT THE METER TO YOUR PC, UNTILL AFTER SATLOADER III HAS BEEN INSTALLED!

Download the Satloader zip file.
Extract the install.exe file from the satloader zip file using Winzip.
Next connect the meter and turn the meter on.
press the red Mode button once.

Using Satloader to download data to your meter.

Step 1, Selecting Com Port.

Utillites > Set Com Port

In the Ports dialog box, select Satmeter 3 (USB) > Click the OK button.

Step 2, Selecting the dataset

Utillites > Download Meter Data
Click on Download Meter Data.
Select data file required
Click on dataset, to highlight it.
Click on open to open and automatically start downloading the data into the meter.

After download is complete, turn the meter off and back on again to reset the meter.

FIRMWARE

The satmeter is an intelligent device that uses a Programmable Interface Controller I.C. or PIC chip. The PIC is loaded with a program which governs the behaviour of the meter. This program is referred to as "Firmware" because it is a software program that is essential to a hardware device.

The firmware of the satmeter III or IV can be upgraded by the owner of the meter, with the Satloader program. Instead of loading in a .sat data file, you load in a .hex file.

SatMeter.exe

The program for creating and editing datasets for the Satmeters, is now available for download. This is a powerful application that changes the entire set-up of your Satmeter. Because of this, the archive ZIP file has been password encrypted. This password is supplied only to experts who apply to us by e-mail.
