Using your Satmeter

Installing satellite dishes efficiently

The meter is controlled using the three-button control pad to install to any of the services in its dataset.

When the dish has been initially installed vertically, and pointing in the approximate direction of the arc, you should set the elevation (as calculated from the web calculator linked on this site). The dish fixing bolts should be tightened enough to hold it in position but allow smooth movement through the arc of azimuth.

Installing the dish well requires that the meter is properly calibrated to allow the easy identification of the peak of the bar graph as it approaches, reaches and passes through the 'sweet spot'. Follow the calibration procedure detailed in this document:

Calibrating the meter

The dish installation is a simple, logical process and the details are contained in this document:

There are many useful websites that will help you to make the initial settings for the dish that will speed up your job. We link to such a calculator on the Useful links page of this website.
